Use the outermost packed dimensions, including a pallet or other packaging where applicable. In metres: length × width × height × quantity = total m³. For example, ten identical 120 × 80 × 50 cm packages occupy 4.8 m³.

Multiply length × width × height in centimetres × the number of identical packages, then divide by 1,000,000. Measure after packing. For different package sizes, calculate each group separately and add the results.
Does CBM determine the freight price?
Volume is one part of a freight brief. Weight, route, transport mode and handling requirements also matter. This calculator does not convert volume into chargeable weight or a price, or confirm that a load fits a container.
